Multiple Myeloma is a rare and very complicated form of blood cancer. (Other areas of this website will provide detailed information and links.) There is currently no cure, but patients can and do continue to live productive lives for many years. There are many stages, many variants, and many treatment options. For this reason, this is a very “personal” disease where the symptoms, the most viable treatment options, and the results vary significantly by individual. This is a disease that truly requires the patients, their caregivers and advocates take an active involvement together with their medical professionals in decision making for care and treatment.
